Solicitors

  • Solicitors’ Accounts Rules

Solicitors require specialist accountacy knowledge as they have to comply with the requirements of the Law Society with regards to their Accounts Rules and the handling of client monies.  This includes a requirement to have your client account records inspected and the submission of an Accountants’ Report to the Law Society.

Gilroy & Brookes can ensure compliance, prepare your accounts and provide support to improve the management systems of your firm.  Where necessary, we provide management letters following completion of our inspection and accounts work, which highlight breaches and recommend improvements to help you maintain best Practice and reduce potential criticism from the Law Society inspectors.

  • Taxation

Before any advice is given, Gilroy & Brookes take into account the taxation, commercial and practical implications for the business before making recommendations which effectively balance the needs of each area.

What this means in practical terms is that your Practice’s taxation affairs will only be co-ordinated after each partner’s personal taxation affairs have been dealt with.  We never advise on one aspect of your Practice in isolation.

For a no-obligation assessment of your Practice’s requirements, please get in touch with Laurie Powell on 01252 320446.
