BRIAN GREEN, FCA, Senior Partner, Alton Office

Brian joined Peat Marwick Mitchell (KPMG) 1969 having completed his articles with the firm's founder, Christopher Gilroy. He worked briefly in KPMG's London office and then in their Sierra Leone office for 4 years. In 1975 he re-joined Gilroy & Brookes as a Partner, becoming Senior Partner in 1993.

Brian has lived in Alton for the last 30 years. He is active in the community with the Alton Lions and Military History Society.

LAURIE POWELL BSc FCA, Senior Partner, Aldershot Office

Laurie qualified with Menzies Middleton Hawkins in Farnham before gaining post-qualification training with KMG Thompson McLintock / KMPG Peat Marwick McLintock in Basingstoke. In 1989 he joined Gilroy & Brookes where he was made a Partner in 1990.

He deals with a wide range of businesses from sole traders to small/medium-sized companies, and is the firm's specialist in computer accounting software and audit. The not-for-profit sector is also a special interest where he manages the accounts of residents associations, flat management companies, pension schemes, and charities.

Laurie plays an active role in the local community as Treasurer of a number of societies and charities dedicated to preserving the areas transport heritage.

ANDY GRUBER, Tax Specialist
Andy started his career with Barclays before joining the Inland Revenue in 1974 where he rose to the position of Inspector of Taxes. After 15 years with the Revenue he joined Gilroy & Brookes in 1989 to provide specialist tax advice to a wide range of personal, business and not-for-profit clients.
